re: TTC for over a year

posted 13th Jul
well im sad to say im joining this thread. this is our year mark of OFFICIALLY ttc. though other ladies have told me as soon as coming off b/c is starting ttc. so if you look at my info and it says ttc since 07 that's why.
it has been a very difficult year. i've not been seen by docters and i really have no desire to. my body doesn't react well to hormones. and im honestly terrified to go in and get checked for MULTIPLE reasons. several years ago i had a m/c while in high school and never got checked out. i've also struggled with anorexia all through jr high and high school. so i know that did a number on my body. i just can't help worrying that those factors are why i've had troubles getting pregnant....

hello everyone....I just would like to say that I am 23 with one son and he is 6years old. I got pregnant in 2007 and misscarried a day after valentine's day....Well here it 2009 and im 10 wks pregnant....I really thought that I couldnt get pregnant again because I wasn't on birth control and was in a committed relationship and nothing was happening. Anyways I think that what helped me become fertile was taking herbal supplements.. Atleast thats how I feel... A co-worker of mine convinced me to purchase this juice called Tahitian Noni and I was like for what. She replied that it would make me healthier and take away some of the impurities in my body.....I was skeptical but hey I was like if it's all natural no harm.... This juice costed me 60 bucks..but I bought it and drunk it and I think it cleared the way and helped my body be in a much more natural state for baby making lol. Anyways I think trying a healthy approach helps out alot for those trying to conceive....Worked for me.....

I wanted to give you ladies some hope. I got a + test on December 10th 2006 and miscarried 5 days later. I didn't get my period back for 17 weeks, and for the next 2 and half years I went threw months of no ovualting. My doctor was willing to send me to a specialist. I just didn't want to be poked and go threw all the stress. I prayed and knew that when the time was right, that it would happen. I just got my BFP 2 1/2 years after my miscarried. Don't give up hope. I know how the days and the month just beat at you. I go to the point where I didn't think it was going to happen. I asked what have I done, \why am I not getting prengnant. I took a break from all the ovulation test, baby-gaga, I didn't temp anymore. I asked my docotor for birth control, I took it for 1 month, then 2 months later I got my BFP. Hang in there. you are not alone. Enjoy your life, don't let TTC take over. I missed out on much because all I thought about was getting pregnant.

Hey All!! Just need a quick vent... I'm just soo down today. It's CD 7 for me today. I have 38 day cycles. I'm expecting to O around August 16th or so... BUT, Hubby is in India for all of August, so nothing's happening this month. In September I'll be on my first round of Clomid. (I could have gone for fertility treatments long ago but we were avoiding that route as a last resort, and we've hit bottom and want to try that now.) Plus, I got soooo sick of charting, so I'm just done. Gonna TRY To take my mind off it for August (Yeah, right!) Blood test revealed I have low progesterone so in Sept it'll be Clomid with Progesterone. It is kinda nice, because the Clomid next month will make me O the same week that my hubby comes back. Not that we need an excuse, but I'm sure we'll be making up for lost time with the BDing. ;) So... all in all... excited about Sept, but feeling REALLY bummed today, and not at all looking forward to any minute of August.   I'm just sick of walking past the spare bedroom, wishing it was a nursery....

I had to chart with Clomid

That's really odd. Why did you have to chart with Clomid? I am still charting some things, just not my temp. That was the tough thing.... Still making note of overall feeling, and CM, as well as what the OPKs are saying... but my doc specifically told me that Clomid will give me a break from the charts because you take it certrain CDs and then BD on exact CDs?? I specifically asked if I needed to use OPK... Her suggestion was I could, but that I don't need to if it'll stress me out or put more pressure on myself for it.

I'm planning on taking her advice on just taking the meds and taking it easy....

I wasn't being monitored that month and it was my first round of Clomid.
I didn't know if my AF would appear (it didn't with Prometrium 100mg), so he told me to start charting with Provera 10mg and just continue through the entire month with charting to help me understand when everything happens.

Also I don't ovulate on my own, so he told me to chart so I can see when I do ovulate and such.

It helped, either way!

Hmm that's really interesting. Sounds pretty complicated. Yeah, I know I do ovulate. But I also have had 4 miscarriages (Which with recent blood test, we know is most likely due to low progesterone.) I also have a uterus condition called Uterus Bicornis Bicolis which means that I have a wall in the middle of my uterus creating basically two half uteruses. So... they have no idea what's going to happen once I do actually get and stay pregnant past the first trimester. I'm at a much higher risk for pre-term birth so as soon as I get pregnant I'll be watched weekly by a ObGyn. The Clomid is really just to better my chances of conceiving each month, and obviously the progesterone is to help me stay preggo.

Well, I'm glad you finally got your little bean!!! How far are along are you?? Hopefully Sept is our month!

Yea it was kind of complicated, but it worked out just fine

I'm 13 weeks. I'll be 14 weeks on Wednesday! I'm really happy this one stuck. I can't imagine going through more than 1 miscarriage. One was hard enough as it was   I'm sorry for your losses.

That is so interesting. I never heard of that condition before. Are they worried because the half of a uterus that gets pregnant might not have the room to grow??

Hope September is your month too! Good luck!

That's so exciting!!! I'm so glad this one stuck for you!! Yeah, the miscarriages really do not get any easier... It's been a really rough go, but I'm very hopeful for September. They are scared my belly might not be able to grow as much as it'll need to towards the end of the pregnancy. The one thing I am very happy about though is that because of this, they will be planning for a c-section at around 8 months instead of letting me go all the way to 9... So, I just have to hold on for 8 months. And there are meds they can give me to help me accomodate the baby more. The good thing is I'm really tiny 5'2'' at 110lbs, so hopefully I'll have a really tiny baby too. Just wishful thinking though cause my hubby is 6'3'' at 210lbs. lol Hopefully things will all start panning out soon for us. REALLY praying for September!!

Good luck through the rest of your pregnancy hun!!!  )

I was so curious about your uterus condition so I looked it up and they showed 4 different kinds of the same thing. Like the one where one half of the uterus is connected to one fallopian tube, and the other part is smaller and isn't connected to the other uterus and cervix/vagina...

Then I saw the one where one fallopian tube is connected to the one uterus and it has it's own cervix and it's own vagina....and then the other half of the uterus is connected to the other tube and has IT'S own cervix and vagina. I saw a live picture of a chick with two vaginas and it was weird!

They had a drawing example of the one you have and it showed that you have two cervix's but one vagina cavity, is that right? Or is yours not that severe and you have one cervix but is connected to both halves?

Sorry if these are not polite questions or anything. I just never heard of any of these and the sites spit a lot of medical mumbo jumbo that I really don't understand.

Are they worried that you might carry a baby in each half too?

Haha, yeah.... my condition is actually just one of the 4 but there are 4 very closely related conditions that sound alot alike but mean very different things. Mine is not that severe at all... Actually my doctor told me many women with my condition don't even know they have it until they try to deliver their babies.... Only reason they found out with me was because I had some unusual symptoms that were totally unrelated and made them do further tests a few years back... PM me if you want to chat about it more though... I don't mind chatting at all about this stuff, just maybe not right for a forum. lol.
