re: TTC for over a year

posted 11th Jul
no my cycle is so bad I don't even have cycles. I'm now 229 days since my last period, and I've had a lap and Clomid and STILL nothing. I got an appointment on Monday to talk to my doctor but I'm getting really upset. I asked what happens if I don't have a period after the clomid and he laughed and said "well then you're pregnant." yeah smooth move asshole, still no period, and I'm def. not pregnant!

I have a question. I just want to know if and when you are pregnant and about to go into L&D do you get a choice if your delivery person is a woman or a man? I have some issues about any other male besides my husband touching me down there. I know men OBs are as educated and competent as women OB's.

I'd just prefer a woman. I know, at that moment when I would be in Labor that probably wouldn't be my main concern, but right now the thought of a male OB scares the SHIT out of me

hopefully I don't sound stupid here.

honestly the women doctors i know - i would rather go to the nearest vet office and deliver then have themtouch me ormy baby. Research and find a doctor you like and feel that you can trust - regardless of wether or not they have a penis. I have also found that women docs tend to be less sympathetic about labor pain then men and are more likely to make you wait for drugs if you ask for them. you do have a choice as to who provides your prenatal care, but depending on the doctor's practice - especially at large birth centers - you may only have a 5% chance of having your doctor deliver your baby. (the hospital i work at you have a 95% chance of having your doctor deliver your baby) research that as well and ask for stats when you are looking for your doctor. good luck!

I dont think its stupid at all. I was abused/raped and i have issues with men going down there too, i know theyre just doing their job but i feel really uncomfortable around other men  . However, as long as my hubs is with me im ok with it. If you really dont want a man there then thats your right. Im dont know how it works in the US but im sure they respect a womans choice like that because of religion so i think its equally as valid.

Kinda random but i had a dream last nightthat i was giving birth lol And it was absolutely nothing like the deliveries id had before!

Girls im sooo nervous.... im 16 dpo today and still no AF!!! my LP is 13 days... so im3 days late....   Im gettin especially anxious because i lost my BBT thermometer 3 days ago, ive searched high and low but no luck, so ive no idea whats goin on with my temps   My cervix is high and firm... what does that mean? is it supposed to be high when af comes?

The cervix is different in every women. I tend to know af is coming because my cervix will get hard 2 days before AF comes. But if you are past your normal LP than that is a good sign!

I have been trying for 15 months and agree there is a difference. My advice is to use OPKs - which I'm sure is something you all know already. I found out I was ovulating a little later than I had thought. Also, my cycles go from 29 - 33 days so this really helps.

Well, I'm back in the TTC forum again. I thought I had graduated to the pregnancy forum, but that didn't pan out and I'm working on miscarriage #4 right now. I have officially been ttc for 25 months now, and I am so ready for this roller coaster ride to be over. I want to get in line for the "raising children" roller coaster.

Thanks so much. Some days are harder than others, but I'm just keeping my eye on the prize, if you know what I mean.

Ladies I am so relaxed now! I had my OBGYN appointment today at the new facility. The nurse lady/phys assistant I saw was VERY understanding. Where my last pcp didn't think i should have children cause I'm "not ready " and they "ruin your life" this one told me straight up,
"If you don't get pregnant within the next two months, you're going to come back and we'll do some tests and check your husband out too"

THANK GOD. I know its completely normal for the TTC Process to take a year or more, but I am glad at least I have someone whos positive on my side. She gave me a tiny calendar to monitor my cycles since they're slightly off and irregular, and she put me at ease.

Slightly Off topic; I made hubby wait to have sex since Sunday night. I felt kind of icky if we were to have done it an then go to the doctor an she'd be lookin up there and all..yea. SO today, Hubby was going NUTS this morning and when we got home I didn't even get a chance to take my shoes off or drop my purse...it was STRAIGHT to bed...hee.
Doctor told me i only need to wait 24 hours before my exam...I wont tell hubby that.

Anyways things are back on track and I've got a "plan" now. Makes me feel a ton better.

I'm so happy for you. Having the right doctor can make a whole world of difference. I am just learning that myself.
