TTC and plus size?

Anyone TTC and plus size?
I am working on losing weight but we also want to try this month (if we are not successful we are taking a 3-6mo break)
Prior to both my pregnancies I was about 160lbs at 5'3'' which looked okay on me because I have huge boobs. With my first I dropped all the pregnancy weight within 3mo but with DS I have only lost 11
Just wondering if anyone else out there is TTC and plus size or TTC while losing weight.

I was overweight for both pregnancies and my second was planned.

Did you feel bad about being overweight and planning? I felt terrible the entire time with DS because I was gaining so much (and I was more active and ate better too bleh) and now that we have been trying I feel bad for not being back at a normal healthy weight. I am working on it though

No but I have been overweight/obese my whole life so in my head getting to healthy weight before TTC just wasn't going to happen.

I was 290 when I got pregnant with DD1. I was 270 when I got pregnant this time. Both pregnancies were planned.
I have been working on getting healthier but with this amount of weight it'd take a looong time to lose it... and I didn't want to wait that long to get pregnant. I'm 25 and DD1 is already almost 3.5. That age gap was more than I wanted already.
DD1's pregnancy was perfect and this one has been perfect so far as well. As long as you're taking care of yourself the best you can (don't gorge on junk constantly), I don't see the big deal. Just because I'm plus size doesn't mean I'm tons worse than "regular size" people. Some are probably in worse health than me besides the extra weight.
I've been plus size forever so... *shrugs* I couldn't wait forever to have kids.

I completely understand your reasoning on that. Even though I am only 23 dd is almost 4 and DS just hit 1. I hate thinking dd and a new baby will be 6yrs apart or more so that's why we wanted to have another so soon. Plus now is such a good time for us as far as living where we are (not moving again for another 2-3yrs)
I just want to be sure I take care of myself if it happens before I can get this extra junk off

Yeah, just eat healthy, exercise when you can... and when you get pregnant, keep it up (with doctors ok on the exercise). You don't HAVE to gain a ton of weight while pregnant. I only gained 5lbs with DD1 and actually lost so far with this one (I had bad morning sickness at the beginning and just have ate pretty well as to not gain it all back at once).
If now is the best time, do it. You have time afterward to work hard at losing the weight if that's what you want to do. That's what I'm going to do.

When I was pregnant with my angel, I was very overweight. Throughout my TTC journey I was overweight. After I had my gallbladder out, I had some complications and now I get sick whenever I try to eat. Due to that, over the last 2 years I have lost 90 pounds. Before I lost the weight, I got pregnant, I ovulated, and had no issues really. Now I do not ovulate and I haven't been pregnant. I don't know if the weight has to do with it. I am taking a break on TTC but it sure is frustrating lol I am thinner now that I have been in SO long and it doesn't seem to help my journey.

I was over weight while TTC, I wasn't plus size but I weigh 30 lbs heavier than I did when I got pregnant with my youngest, a lot more than that with my oldest. My doctor still doesn't seem concerned. I'm not even sure if they do, unless you eat junk all the time. I wouldn't feel guilty about it.

Why would we feel guilty for being overweight and TTC?! That's ridiculous! I was overweight during all of my pregnancies. First one I gained 20 lbs, lost 25 immediately upon delivery. Second one I gained 11 lbs, and lost 20 immediately. This time I was quite large, 295 when I got pregnant. I lost 35 lbs during the pregnancy. I never once felt guilty. Why should I? Why should my weight preclude me from having children?

I was just wondering. I know my doctors made me feel guilty both times I was pregnant for being as heavy as I was.

Some docs make me feel guilty every time I go in there. I eat healthy but I drink about 2-3 coffees a week depending how strong they are, and they gripe about it. I thunk some of then over step what they are supposed to be doing which is informing not griping.

Find another doctor. I wasn't being rude in my post, I also had a doctor who told me not to get pregnant because I was "too fat" and went as far as telling me I was sterile! Well, I switched doctors about 12 weeks into my pregnancy, yup, pregnancy. Dumb nut. I found a more considerate doctor!

Holy crap wow how rude of the doctor! I am thinking about switching my doctor now (just general) because she seems to think nothing is ever wrong until its bad

If I don't agree with them, since I tend to research my symptoms and know what's going on before I go in, I will find a second opinion. If they're not proactive and wanting to PREVENT serious illness then they're not for me
