Wedding pictures

I got offered a "job" to take pictures at a friends wedding tomorrow. I have never done this before, but she's not looking for anything professional - she just wants the memories.

What are some things I should make sure to capture throughout the ceremony and reception, or that you would want captured in your own wedding? I will also be there during the make up and dressing.

If you have any pictures that would be great too! Like I said, it's nothing professional and I won't be editing any photos.

Will you be using a dslr?

You can look on pinterest for ideas as well. Look at other photographers work.
Make sure to make a check list of all the shots both you AND the bride and groom want to be done.

the decorations; tables, centerpieces, any little little thing. get pictures of her getting ready, her dress, rings, flowers, shoes.. also dont be afraid to take too many pictures either.

No, just a P&S. It's a Canon SX160 and takes pretty good pictures but nothing too spectacular. She's only paying me $100 lol. I totally forgot about Pinterest, thank you! And I will be sure to ask them details that they want - but I was just talking in general.

We're also going to her mothers grave after the reception - any ideas on some good pictures for that? She will still be in her wedding dress.

All of those pictures are BEAUTIFUL....... One thing I'd add tho OP is the groom looking at the wife as she walks down the aisle. Like the first look at her and his reaction.

I actually got that shot you just described but its just not in that online album.

I really enjoyed doing that wedding, but they are sooo stressful.

The picture of all the brides maids and the bride in the middle is my favourite.. So pretty! You did a very good job.

Their flowers were just too pretty to not focus on

I agree, she did amazing. Mine won't look anywhere NEAR that great.

But thanks for that tip. That's gonna be a great emotion to capture.
