Pregnancy after 25 weeks and preparing for baby!!!

posted 15th Mar
Just a curiosity... after you hit the 25th week marker of your pregnancy did time seem to fly past or did things slow down and drag on and on? I have basically 4 months left but I feel like that is NOTHING, especially when you are preparing for something.. I mean SOMEONE! I have tons.to get done and feel like time is passing quickly. I have nothing for baby except clothes, a stroller and nippy pillow. All I got as gifts besides a few outfits I got to celebrate when we found out the sex! My midwife said a lot of moms start putting their nursery into place. So I guess my questions are... how fast/slow did your pregnancy go after 25 weeks? Did you use a guideline on what to get and when? To help keep you on track and prepare you. What are some thinsgs you realize last minute of after baby that you NEED? Maybe small things that are easy to forget? What are things that can wait a bit, like high chair? Any other advice on the topic is appreciated! I feel the need to plan. This is "nesting" I suppose? Lol.

I didn't start preparing things until after the 30wk mark, probably more like 34-35 wks (such as... Putting the crib up, washing things, had my shower at 34wks and after I did basically everything except install the car seat)

Yes I did, lol. I was mobile and when I hit post it didn't do anything so I hit it again and it said posted. Didn't realize till later that it posted both times.

I'm 36 weeks, and now have everything. Everything is set up, but all the covers off his stuff (stroller, car seat, swing, etc.), all his clothes, sheets, and towels need to be washed. I think I'm waiting for another nesting fit to hit me, so I have the motivation to get it all done! I didn't start getting stuff until about 24-25 weeks.

I guess its a "nesting fit" that has hit me too! I'm 25 weeks, 2 days. I have a stroller, boppy pillow and clothes- all that were gifts. I bought a few onesies, but my MIL has literally filled 2 storage tubs full of clothes. But I feel like I need to start getting other things instead of having to get everything at once and take a HUGE chunk of money out. I need nursery furniture (which I am going to get a used set), car seat, play yard, swing. I don't know what else. No idea where to start!

Each pay check I would go and buy stuff. I would switch it up between the little things, like diapers, wipes, creams, soaps, and lotions. Then get a big ticket item, like the travel system, bassinet, play pen, etc. the crib was given to us as a gift, but we don't plan to set it up until later because I want to cosleep and it'll be mainly be used for naps, like the bassinet. I know it feels overwhelming, but if you break it up, it makes it so much easier. I understand the urge to just have it all, and to get it all set up. But you still have plenty of time (:

Only 14 weeks, and already have the highchair, but not a lot else- the one DH wanted was on sale, and he's been set on that specific one for the better part of a decade (which I know sound ridiculous, it's a Stokke, and he lived with a guy who worked for them for about a year, so I think it's nostalgic...) I think maybe we're doing it all backwards, but it'll work out
