insurance and birthing center

So we found out hubbys coverage for me to have PPO would be 400 a mnth and with us buying a vehicle next month I can not afford that. We have only one vehicle so we have to buy the van. Anyways HMO is 260 a mnth so I am going with that. Problem is it only covers a hospital birth. I had two terrible hospital experiences and I want the natural child birth I have always wanted. I really wanted to go to Ancient Pathways Birthing Center. it is 5200 for the package I want which includes not only birth but prenatal and postnatal care. I looked at how much I would have to pay a mnth over a year or two by dividing it into the cost and if that is what their payment plan is like I am not sure I can afford it out of pocket mind you I will still be going in and checking the insurance and cost through them before I just give up but even the chance I may have to deliver in hospital scares me. They push meds on me every time... don't let me move and make me lay down on my back the whole time with those rlly tight hurting belly monitors. I get bitchy rude nurses every time. If anything I am thinking maybe a doula could be hired instead for in hospital. I know I do not know for sure but it has been weighing on me.

I would absolutely recommend a doula! If you get pushy nurses and don't want to be seen as a difficult patient, your doula can absolutely tell them to smurf off and request new ones. Will your insurance only cover a specific hospital?

I would look into a different hospital my nurse was really nice even when i was in a piss poor mood at the end and wanted a c-section she pushed me and made me lay on my side where i needed to because she was no fully ingaged and i still had stuff left on one side. I thank her for pushing me because i didnt want a c-section but i was in a lot of pain at that point between my back because i have back issues and labor i was over it.

They usually will try to work with you.. M midwife has been great working out payments since she is out of network on our insurance and we have to pay in full.. By far worth the price to get the birth I want. I refuse to step foot in a hospital pregnant unless it is life threatening to me or my baby.

great that is what I thought a doula woukd do is stand up for me during my birth and keep it as natural as possible. I am not sure but if I am going hospital I am sticking with my OBGYN and he delivers at Pomona Valley Hospital. He was amazing as far as my birth plan. it was the pushy bitchy nurses that made it hell my family was so pissed. my dr is all for natural.

is the payment plan real affordable ? if I did a two year payment plan it would be like 216 a mnth and I dont know if I could do that on top of a new car payment. but maybe they would rlly work with me. that is why i am still going in
