WWYD?

posted 15th Mar
About a month and a half ago we found out DD had pneumonia. She took the antibiotics and seemed to be better. Well 2 weeks after they told us she has pneumonia she started coughing and running a fever again. We took her back to the doctor they said it looks like it cleared up but to give her amoxicillin for 10 days. We gave her the amoxicillin and she seemed better but now the cough is back. I have no idea what to do. I don't understand why it keeps going away and then coming back. WWYD? I don't want to drive an hour away to the doctor for no reason.
TIA.
ETA: Shes 16 months old.

Is it a dry cough or a wet gross sounding one? In January of last year my son had double pneumonia and once it went away he had a persistent cough until July I believe. He had chest xrays done blood work all that jazz and there wasnt a cause for it, it was just there. If its just a plain cough I wouldnt bother going in. If its accompanied by a fever or rough breathing then go back.

His cough can last for a while after being treated. My dr said that as long as it was just regular coughing not to worry

A cough can last for months afterwards. I have some serious lung issues from birth, and Have had pneumonia twice in the last 6 months. Though this last time antibiotics didnt touch it, which means it was viral pneumonia. So it could be that. I kept spiking fevers and dropping, I still am 2 weeks later. I'd go back into the Dr and get checked again though
