Abusive family situation

Let's say we're talking about your children's grandparents' residence. CPS has been out to their house numerous times and you have eight police reports (some involving minors) involving the grandfather. The grandfather tried to strangle his young son, shoved him into a coat rack (leaving a scar), and beat him up when he was 16, placing his knee on his son's neck and holding him down. He hit his paralyzed daughter with a back of water softener salt and pushed her out of her wheelchair. You lived at this residence for a time and witnessed constant screaming, spanking with brute force, and porn lying around the house. The house was always filthy and cluttered. Is this a place you would want to bring your children?

Is that even a question?


Hell no.

Apparently it is a question, because a judge just ruled that my kids' father can still bring them to this residence, which I feel is absolutely ridiculous. Oh, and I forgot to mention my kids' dad was molested by a family member when he was younger and the father allowed the molestor to continue to be around the house and around the victim.

Omg! I would kill the grandfather before I'd let my child around that! How frustrating and worrisome

I honestly still can't believe it. My kids' father is a terrible enough influence already. The fact that he can now bring them around his family and not even be required to be in the same room makes me SICK. He doesn't give a smurf about them or their well-being. He never has.

  it really sucks OP. I know some ppl can change, my greatgfather molested my gmother and she still would bring my mom over there (never without her though).
But he never molested anyone again.
But I definitely would be fighting again what the judge ruled!
I wouldn't want to risk it.

Yeah, I definitely don't trust these people to change, especially since they don't believe in therapy or getting help. My son's dad refuses to go to his therapy sessions because he thinks they're "pointless." This family sees no problem with the way they act, and I don't want to sit around and wait for something bad to happen. I agree...I don't want to risk it.

Yeah, do you have a lawyer and proof of all that's goes on at that house?
I can't believe a judge would rule that with proof that its a bad environment.

I didn't have a laywer, but I may consult with one now. And I had eight police reports of the abuse! I have no idea how the judge heard about a "man" beating the smurf out of his young son and daughter and thought it would be fine for my young children to be around these people.
