Breast feeding my daughter

posted 14th Mar
Help.
Milk seems very very low in supply..like droplets. shes 8 days old. I supplemented with the bottle for a few days now because my other kids have been very needy so its the only way i can get things done.
How can I help my supply? I really want to continue breastfeeding her at all cost!

stop supplementing and it will happen on it's own in time usually.

You hve to stop supplementing and nurse on demand. Also let her comfort nurse: do it as much as possible!!!! Drink lots and make sure you're eating enough.

start breast feeding every 2 hours on the dot, asap. that means if you begin breast feeding at 1, you need to feed at 3.

This

The more you turn to the bottle the less you will produce...it's a vicious cycle.

So am I still able to fix this?
Do i need to set up alarms?
Like is there a vitamin i can take to help?

Oan: i cant pump. the amount i get is by self and i squeeze the way the lactation doc showed me before releasing me after birth and it was good until a few days later when i started supplementing.
I feel like a bad mom

I never had this problem with the other 3

You're not a bad mom, you just want to be an equally great mom to your other children! And no it shouldn't be too late. I would do what they call baby mooning and your LO may seem cranky at first and my want to nurse almost constantly but after a couple of days it should regulate the way it needs to.

Thank you for thinking that
I have to ask....what exactly is Baby Mooning?

Two days in bed with baby, skin to skin, feeding on demand, feeding when baby shows any interest to comfort nurse or even suck at all even if not for nutrition's sake.

yeah i never had a schedule with my LO's. I just nursed whenever they wanted it. 2 of them I BF for over a year, one I was only able to for 6 weeks.

You think this will work?
If you really think so i cvan go on and get my kids situated somewhere so i can really dedicate myself to the room and mooning

That will definately work!
Drink Mother's Milk tea. Oatmeal. Fenugreek suppliments (so long as your not diabetic). Avoid peppermint.
