So you are in a relationship with a liar? Does it give you a reason to go through his stuff, in my opinion no. You should ask before you go through other peoples belongings. That is how I was raised, if it is not yours dont touch it.

If he is lying about work, and has an alcohol problem now. He isnt going to change because you want him to. I would get out now before it is to late.
