Thinking and Thinking

I've been thinking about my daughters father a lot lately.. Him and i are not together due to a decision he made, I want him to be in our daughters life but at the sametime it doesn't seem like he wants too be.. I haven't heard from him since 2 months ago.. he doesn't even call/text to see how our daughter is doing which bothers me the most.. She's not even here yet and he hasn't shown any kind of care towards her.. I know it's different for guys.. (When they see and hold the baby then that's when it sinks in for them) but i doubt he's going to be around when shes even born.. I feel like he is being selfish and only thinking of himself, he's not thinking about our daughter.. It hurts me that he doesn't want to even try to stick out the differences we have for our daughter.. I can't force him to be a father to her, but he just doesn't seem to care at all.. I'm very concerned about my daughter and i don't her to ever feel like she's not wanted because of the things her father is doing, I know no matter what i will always give her unconditional love and support that she needs. I am just so confused as what to do right now with her father... I don't know what to do...

That sucks! You can't really force him to do anything and you shouldn't feel bad if he doesn't do what he's suppose to do. That'll be on him. Sorry you're going through that. Hope things get better for you.

I don’t want to come off as insensitive when I say this and I am well aware I don’t know your situation honestly have you tried looking at it all from a independent point of view. Are you sure he is not involved because he just doesn’t feel like it or could it be possible that he is not involved because he feels you don’t want him to be? Have you tried texting him and inviting him to a scan or some thing? Don’t talk about your relationship or troubles etc just talk to him about the baby. Once he realises that you just want him involved with the baby and not get into your other problems, he might come round… Just an idea.

I've done that, i never brought up any of our relationship problems when i talked to him it was mainly about our daughter.. He had said it was overwhelming him so i stopped talking to him period. He said for me to never contact him again. So i'm doing as he wishes. I know i can raise my daughter on my own but i don't want him to come around and say i didn't let him be in our daughters life, when in actuality he's the one who chose that decision not i.
