Due today! Not dilated but thin cervix! What does this mean?

So my due date was today but at my appt my doctor told me today that I am 39 weeks. She also checked me for dilation. She said I'm not dilated not had the baby dropped however my cervix is pretty thin.. She told me I have about a week left.. At the most.. What does this mean!!!!!?????

My belly is super super low and I feel like he has dropped, if he dropped anymore he could stick a hand out and wave.. Lol I also have been having irregular contractions last night and severe back pain on and off all day, it's like a dull achy menstrual period pain!
I'm not sure if I should listen to my doctor or my body! I feel like I am going to go into labor within the next day or two!
Also, Should I continue walking and lots of sex??? Please help!  

That your cervix is preparing for labor...

Yes walk have sex.

Did your doc say you ARE 39 weeks or are MEASURING 39 weeks? They normally wouldn't push you back a week so late in the game.

It means you're still pregnant. Lol.

A week doesn't make much of a difference if you're going to go into labor naturally. Walk, have sex, enjoy the last few moments of quiet.
No dilation with a thinned cervix doesn't mean anything, you could stay like that for weeks.
Did your doctor tell you were measuring 39 weeks or did he tell you that you are due in a week? In willing to bet he measured and told you 39 weeks and you jut misunderstood what he meant. He wouldn't change your due date this late in the game.

she just said "i give you about a week more" shes not a very good, nor striahgt forward dr -____- i just wanted to know if even though she said that and tht the baby isnt dropped.. is it possibe for me to stil go into labor as soon as tonight or tomorrow? cuz ive been having irregular contractions through out the day plus a lot of leaky discharge

I'm 40 weeks and 2 days, no dialation or anything yet for me but been having what I stink are contractions the past couple days

lol ive been so busy! so much to prepare for!

ive been having back pain and what i think are contractions here and there but not really sure what contractions should feel like... feels almost like cramps and having to pee really bad.. down low in my abdomen also my pubic bone is soooo sore like bruised feeling!!   any opinions? advice?

Your the only person who really knows your body. I had my dates switched back and forth tell the end of pregnancy. I knew I wasn't as far as the dr changed it to. And sure enough I was right that date came and left. I was induced at either 41 or 39 weeks. I knew I was getting close to going into labor on my own but like I said the dr said otherwise. If you feel your getting closer you probably are.Good luck. Hope all goes well.
