Meatloaf help!

posted 14th Mar
So, I found a new recipe for meatloaf, that called for it to be baked in a 9x11 inch pan. I lent my pan to someone so I decided to bake it in a loaf pan instead. The directions said to bake at 350 for 1 hour. It's been baking at that temperature for 1 hour and it's still totally pink in the middle.

Since it's a lot thicker in the loaf pan should I turn up the temp of the oven? Or should I just leave it at 350 and bake longer? I don't have a meat thermometer so I've been just peeking in the middle as it cooks. It's been baking uncovered, also... not sure if that makes a difference.

I do 375 for 45-50 minutes when it's in a loaf pan.

It will have to bake longer. I wouldn't turn the temp up or it will dry out the outside before the inside cooks.

  this.

Just have to wait longer.

I always cook mine in a loaf pan and I cook it at 200C fan forced for 45 minutes and its perfect.

If you turn it up that high it's just going to burn on the outside instead of cooking the inside.
Leave it at 350 until it's cooked through. Should only be an extra 20 minutes, half hour at most.

I think it makes a difference that you cover it.. steam (moisture) stays in so it doesn't dry out. Not sure if she is cooking hers covered? If it was me I would leave it at 350. I don't use a loaf pan or cover usually just 'mold' it into a loaf on a baking pan and cook at 350 for 45 mins- 1hr
