So DD turns 1 at the end of May. DH recently got a job so i was thinking we could order a really cute outfit, maybe with the #1 on it for her party. Well, i get on fb and my mother has posted a pic saying "lily's birthday suit" and it's a cute little outfit with cakes and cupcakes all over it. Now i'm kind of disappointed. i mean i appreciate her doing it, and i'm sure she probably thought we wouldn't have the money go get something, but i can't help but feel cheated... It's not like i can just order an outfit now and have her wear it because most of my family saw my mom's pic. should i just let it go?

I'd be upset but because I my mil likes to take away moments from me so I know how it feels lol

I would just get another outfit. I know Draven was changed at least once out of outfits (because of cake and such)

Sounds frustrating. Maybe she could wear one outfit on her birthday and one outfit at her birthday party?

yeah, idk if she's doing it on purpose but she's like always doing stuff like this. granted, the other 2 times she didn't know. DH had planned to get DD one of those animal seats, she got her one. then he planned to get her one of those plush like rocking horses, she got her one... i just wish she'd ask us before going and getting this stuff. it makes us look like total smurfs when we say something about it...

They are by far, the cheapest place to get good prints....They usually have each month like a 1 or 2 pose package for anywhere between 8-12 dollars....check it out and their printed sheets are always 4 dollars. Even if things are tight you could probably put that much together maybe?

Wow. Way to be unappreciative. You can get a sticker or iron on with a 1.

Yeah I'm not sure if my mil does it on purpose but there are serious boundary issues.

at least someone understands. I just feel like my mother is gonna 1 up us all the time when it comes to DD. i try to tell myself that she's just trying to take advantage of the time she has with DD (we plan to move in the future)
