bruise?

so my LO has had a like bruise on the upper part of her bum since like birth. it doesnt hurt her, but it looks like a nasty bruise   does anyone else's LO have this? did you get your doctor to look at it? i think im gunna make an appointment ASAP!  

Could it be a birth mark?

my daughter did.. for almost 2 years. he said the capillaries are just really close to the skin. Dove me crazy.. looked like she was beat sometimes

thats what i was wondering too, but its like bluish :S but my doctor has passed it at every appointment shes been too

YES!!! i know! It's like horrible, i just really worry that it's something worst  

My DS has it. It's called a Mongolian blue spot. I FREAKED the first time I saw it because I had just gotten home after letting my step mom babysit for 20 min while I ran to the store when he was a week old. I took him to the hospital it was sort of scary not gonna lie. It's pretty common in darker skinned children come to find out. I'm puerto rican so my skin is pretty dark. DH is pretty dark too he is all kinds of nationalities lol. I'd make an appointment just to be sure but I'm sure it is nothing to worry about.

oh, I didn't think of that. yea.. if she has anyone of darker skin in her family it could be that. my kids are as white as can be though.. she had an actual bruise. it was spotted.. kinda odd looking... at the top of her bottom..

shes quite dark, shes darker then both of me and SO lol does it go away?

DS will be 1 on the 20th and still has it. It's not very dark though. They said it should go away 3-5 years old but could be there for life.
