How long do you let LO leave for?

posted 14th Mar
My LO will be 7 months on the 26. How long do you let them leave for when someone picks them up? Have they stayed over night anywhere? I'm also EBF which makes stuff a little difficult

My DS is 10 months and I have left him for the weekend with his grandparents but, I don't BF though so it was a little easier.

No more than 3 or 4 hours and not overnight. I think she first stayed away from me overnight when she was 3 or almost 3.

We left DS only once overnight and I didn't like it but I was really sick with the flu and we were moving. When we have DH's parents watch him it's usually for no more then 4 hours or once all our errands are done.

Just do what you feel comfortable with.

My son is 17 months and has never stayed the night away from us. The longest he's been babysat is a couple hours. Just long enough to go to the movies.

so far, just one overnight...DS is 15 months and I wouldnt want to ask anyone to do more than that cause he is a busy guy! I think my mom started taking him overnight when he was about 6-7 months . That will change when my second is born...he might have to stay away 2-4 nights depending on how my delivery goes.

When his father picks him up I only let him go for about 2-3 hours. Everyone keeps saying "quit bfing so he can stay the night here" but I don't want to quit just to have one night alone :/

Longest my son has been away from either of us was for 7ish hours it took for my daughter to be born.. And he slept the entire time.

We haven't left our daughter in anyone else's care yet..

My daughter is almost 12 months, she stays with her grandparents about 2 times a month over night. Sometimes more.

DD1 is 17 months, we have gone out 3 times couple hours each time, she was with my mom. When DD2 was born my mom stayed with her the 2 nights DH and I were in the hospital.
DD2 is 7 weeks and I have even left her with DH.

I don't trust people enough to leave them yet.
