Looking for personal experiences :)

Okay, I had my first cervical check today and he said I'm 3 cm dilated and 40% effaced. He said that I'm "still high." I have never heard that before, so I'm not entirely sure what it means. Anyway, with my son, at 41 weeks I was NOT dilated and still went into labor (regular contractions 2 minutes apart, couldn't talk through them).

SO...How long did it take you to go into labor when you were dilated and effaced? I'm hoping this kid bakes for another 3 weeks at least, do you think my odds are good?

Could be hours could be weeks. I was a 3 and contracting every 3-5 minutes for 5 weeks.

Oh my, I couldn't imagine that! I've been regularly contracting, but they haven't been really too bad.

Dilation and effacement have no correlation as to when you'll go into labor.

What's worse is I was contracting from 14/15 weeks until I delivered. Talk about fun.

  Well THAT'S discouraging lol I didn't know that.

With my first I was 3cm and like 80% effaced at 38ish weeks, he was born at 39 weeks 6 days.

With my second I started dilating at 31weeks. By 37 weeks I was 3 cm and 39 weeks 5 cm and 100% effaced, I had her at 40 weeks.

Wow, I really wouldn't wish that on anyone. I'm glad you both came through.

I was 100% effaced and went overdue haha

I was totally closed up, not effaced, no contractions ect at 39-40 weeks with my first born, the day i had him i went from 1cm to having him in hours x
