Black watery poop!!?

posted 13th Mar
My 17 month old son just had a very disgusting massive diaper with black watery poop! I've read black poop can be a sign of internal bleeding, too much iron and change of diet..we haven't changed anything with his diet so that's not it I don't think. He does get half a flinstone multi vitamin daily with his lunch per his pedis suggestion but he's been taking that almost a month and never had any poop issues like this. It's not tarry or coffee ground consistency so I'm not sure it's to do with internal bleeding. He's acting like his normal pain the butt self lol.. He doesn't seem like he's in pain and he isn't running a fever.. Should I be concerned or just wait it out to see if this continues?????

i would wait to see if it continues. if your really concerned, you can call dr after hours but they will probably tell you to just bring him in. good luck. could he be teething by chance?

if he appears to be fine, its probably something he ate. have you fed him any black beans, blue berries, black berries or olives in the last few days? sometimes there are foods that will make your bm darker.

When LO gets really constipated it's black, but not watery.

Maybe it's just something he ate? Call the DR and ask.

Nope he's never had any of those.. He had 2 Oreos today I read the black dye could also cause it but didnt think 2 Oreos would affect him that much..

I'm going to see if he does it anymore and possibly have my husband take him in tomorrow while I'm at work
