Weakness from being sick, when to go to ER?

posted 13th Mar
I got sick suddenly yesterday morning. Started with a migraine, and then complete flu symptoms.
Today I felt a little better this morning, minus the headache, chills, fever, and sore throat.

Now I'm more achy, my headache won't go away, and every time I sneeze or cough I'm too weak to hold my bladder and I pee. Also, I'm more dizzy today, and have to hold onto something to keep me standing.

I'm drinking a ton, even though I've only peed maybe 3 times today. I don't know when I should see someone if at all? I had to call out of work today which I was unhappy with, and I'm supposed to go in tomorrow.

try drinking gatorade...
sounds like you have the flu, and unless you have an uncontrollable temp or other severe symptoms, the er really can't do much.
have you eaten anything today? if not that's probably why you're so weak.

None of that sounds life threatening.

Do you not have a primary care physician??

I drank a bottle earlier.
Yes I've had soup, crackers, a cheeseburger, oatmeal, and some things in between

They can't see me until I meet with a financial counselor who I've been playing phone tag with for weeks.

If you have the flu, and it sounds like you do, and it's been more than 24-48 hours since the onset of symptoms, there is really nothing they can do for you. You certainly don't need to go to the ER unless you're running a super high fever or are dehydrated. Get some rest and drink lots of fluids. I wouldn't go to work tomorrow and expose everyone to the flu, though.

I took some tylenol and ibuprofen and it went up to almost 103.
I have to go to work. There's no one to cover me and unless I get a doctors note I could get fired

You don't need to go to the ER unless it's greater than 104. I wouldn't go to the ER and expose an already compromised immune system to a slew of other illnesses. If you need a note for work, I'd go to urgent care, but here, you can sign in online and wait at home.

I can't go to urgent care either. They close in a half hour which it takes me longer than that to get there, and you have to pay up front, which I also don't have the money for

dunno what time it is where she is but all the urgent care centers around here are closed.

OP if you're keeping fluids AND food down i see no reason to go.
although, if you really need a note that bad i suppose you could go. just hope it isn't packed. maybe they will test you for the flu so you will know for sure and your work will completely understand...no one wants to be exposed to that.
