Transitioning a 2 year old to their own bed

posted 13th Mar
How did you do it? Any tips? Right now DD sleeps with me and if she is even 5 inches away she cries or whimpers. But I am ready for her to sleep in her own bed since she always ends up next to me and in my back. I need my bed back! Help!

I used to lay down with dean in his toddler bed, then sneak out once he was asleep, I used body pillows to prop under him so he felt something else in bed with him... he would sleep most of the night in his bed then come to my bed by 5am lol

when we moved, i put his bed in my bedroom, and he was pretty good about laying down by himself in his bed as long as he could see me,

The problem we have that I can't get around is that any time I try anything like putting him down in a new bed "like on the floor next to mine of in his room" he gets so excited about "somthing new" that the nap is gone! He is so excited about the idea of a new bed that he will not sleep!

The few times I nursed him in my arms and then put him down in his tot bed when he woke to find himself in a new land of fun.... well sleep was messed up for the next few days.
