Your 4 month old is eating fruit?

It's not recommended to start solids until 6 months.
Then start with rice.
Then go through all the veggies.
THEN introduce fruits.

There really is no point to it and it offers nothing nutritionally.

Pediatricians vary on their recommendations. The norm used to be 4 months, now many support the 6month standard. Although some say that 4 months is okay.

Some recommend doing veggies first, others say it doesnt matter because humans naturally prefer sweet things but persistence is key.

Some recommend rice or oatmeal, others say its filler...

I'd also like to point out that if you are feeding Gerber baby food, the fruit doesnt have much, if any sugar, any more. My son LOVES carrots and sweet potato. He isnt a fan of apples, peaches or banana. He tolerates them but does not eat as feverishly as when I give him carrots and sweet potatos.   The Gerber fruit is very tangy.

That's awesome that she didn't get the digestive issues that she was at risk for. Hopefully she doesn't have any allergies from it. I'd keep an eye out.

Pedi told me it was just fine. She has never had any issues and she not allergic to anything so far and she eats everything!!! I even started her on cows milk at 10 months cause she refused formula at that point and I tried toddler formula she hated that as well so I got the pedi permission for that as well...she just old me to introduce it slow and watch for a reaction lol

This. I will never understand the rush to feed babies solids. The possible risks of what can happen if their digestive track is not yet developed just arent worth it IMO. Some things dont even show up until later in life.

Parents get bored and think its exciting. And don't understand the risks.

And if your pedi told you feeding your child crack was ok would you do that too? There is a reason different doctors have varying opinions on solids and things like milk. Thats why I do my own research.

Sad thing is even after they learn the risks some still dont care. Everyone has the well so and so did it with their kid and they turned out fine story. I would hate for my child to be the one that wasn't ok.
