So glad my doctors office is up to date on this smurf. The handout I got at 4 months says you can do cereal at 4 months but its highly recommended to wait until 6. They promote baby led weaning (even do classes on it). At her 1 year check up I got a whole handout on extended rear facing.

That's awesome.

I posted a topic on baby led weaning (looking for information) because I'm leaning towards it and need to convince DH...he's a little apprehensive. I know I've seen you talk about it a lot - do you maybe have any info or resources I could check out?

I'm mobile so I can't link but wholesome baby food had tons of great info. With my oldest I was very uneducated and trusted everything my doctor and WIC told me. We did cereal at 4 months baby food shortly there after (def not 6 months) while medically speaking she is fine. She is also a very picky eater and until just after 3 she was very much on the chunky side. With my youngest we did BLW she loves food and will try anything I put in front of her. She is right in the 50% for weight and even though she is only 1 I feel she has much better eating habits that my oldest. Maybe you can get him to agree to just trying it for a month and then you can reevaluate if its working.

That's awesome! My oldest is really picky too so I'm hoping to avoid that with DD. He's just afraid of choking and I tried to explain that there's not any more of a risk than with the purees but he needs time to get used to the idea, I think. I reacted the same way at first...we've had it ingrained in us that babies need the mush
