Breastfeeding and blocked duct??

So ive been breastfeeding for almost 3 months now and i havent had any problems until now.... the other day my milk came in alot and my breast were engorged cuz i havent pumped for a couple hours so i hand expressed my breast and got as much as the milk out as i could because I didnt have a pump on me at the time.... the next day i wake up very sore and this huge lump is in my breast... when i go to nurse it burns and hurts when she feeds and its sore just to gently brush your finger over...now today the bump has gone down but now its red and theres a white spot on it.... it still hurts but you can touch it and its not that bad ...i did some research and found out theres something called THRUSH.... and everything that i have matches up with what i found.... does it sound like i have a blocked milk duct or did i just bruise my breast by squeezing the milk out with my hands

if i were you, i would go to dr. i had a yeast infection in my breast from baby having thrush and it was nothing like what you are describing.

I had a clogged milk duct too. Nothing like you described though. It was a hard spot. People gave me advice to massage it and compress it with a warm rag. And try to massage it out. I did, which made it get Horribly worse! I could barely pick my baby up because the side where it was at hurt! I went to the ER because it had stretched my boob so much that it was tearing the skin. I was in the hospital for 2 days under antibiotics. They still had to surgically drain it! It had turned into an abcess. The skin around the hole was peeling away, my dr said I looked like a snake. I had to repack it everyday, which hurts so bad! All in all, ask your dr about it before its too late.

ok so ladies heres an update so far i ended up taking a hot shower and massaging it and after i got out i took a hot compress to it and kept massaging it then the white blister like spot on my nipple popped and milk came out it was kinda thick tho like it had been in there for a bit and sure enough after i let my daughter latch on a bunch of times the lump went away and the soreness went away and the white spot is gone so i guess it was a blocked milk duct.. phew thank god it wasnt thrush
