Sick baby.. should i be concerned?

My baby has a little cold, and I haven't yet taken her to see her Dr. because the last time I took her they said there was nothing they could do for her. But her breathing is getting raspy and she is really fussy. She's been up since 3:30 this morning and can't fall back asleep. I'm getting frustrated and I won't give her medication because she is not running a fever. But how else do I make it better? Do I take her to the ER or just wait to c if she gets better all by herself.

Call her pedi, my son has had a cold since Jan and all I can do to help him is keep his nose clear and I do give him Tylenol when he is really fussy from not feeling well.

Do you have a humidifier?
if not, run a steamy hot shower and sit with her in the bathroom with.the door closed.


Put baby vicks on her feet with socks on. & suction her nose frequently.

Yes, I have taken him to the Dr. twice over it and they just keep saying keep his nose suctioned to avoid ear infections. They said he is too young for any medication. He will get better for a couple days and then is back to being congested.

You know what helped my newb? I was doing the saline with suction bulb but that wasn't helping. I read that if you only use saline (without suctioning) then it would clear it up and it did! And we also sleep with a *cool mist* humidifier. So between those two something worked cause he had nasal congestion like whoa.

I will try that with the saline. We keep a humidifier running in his room all the time and I have been very careful to keep him away from as many germs as possible. It seems to keep moving from his head to his chest and then goes away just to come back. He sneezes a lot too so I was going to ask his Dr at his 6 month appointment next week if he could have allergies but I dust a lot and we don't have animals.

I believe at that age Benadryl is OK. Of course you have to check with the Dr regarding dosing.

LO will be nine months this week. She has acid reflux and is on medication and just got done taking Culturell to help with stomach bacteria. POOR BABY GIRL....

I think those would be great to try.. I know I will go and see if they have some.. I prefer homopathic before drugs anyday. She is just so little and I don't want to put her body through more then I have too.

Absolutely. My Son is 4 and we still do homeopathic before meds.
