how much is too much?

my son will be 1 wk on Wednesday and the nurses had me feeding him 2 oz every 3-4 hours but now he still seems hungry so i gave him 4 oz last night and he did very well!! is it ok for him to have 4oz now?? i mean obviously if its making him happy and satisfied i should keep it right?

Feed him until he isn't hungry, regardless of how much that is.

Yup. They do a lot of growing in the first few weeks.

Thank you for the responses! I really figured to let him eat as much as he needed but I'm new at this so I needed some reassurance!!  thanks ladies!! 

If it was too much he'd yak it all up. My newb is a hungry boy too.

DD is 2 weeks did the same thing she took 6oz the other day! Doctor said no such thing as over feeding an infant. Theyll spit it out, or spit it up if its too much.

Feed him as much as he wants. I never did 'schedules' I just fed on demand.
