Trigger Finger

Yesterday I noticed DD's middle & ring finger on her left hand seem to get stuck and then snap open when she's grabbing for something. She's 19 months old. I think she might have "trigger finger." We have a doc appointment today, but was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this. How do you treat it? I keep reading that surgery is possible in severe cases- what's considered "severe?" Is is something that could possibly just go away on its own?

Surgery was a breeze. No complications or anything.

I'd talk to the pedi and get a referral to a hand surgeon or a peds ortho

Surgery seems so scary!!! Especially if she's in a lot of pain afterwards

it really isn't a huge deal. I think it took longer to put Cora to sleep than it did for the actual surgery lol

And I think I onnly gave one or two doses of tylenol afterwards. She never complained of pain

It was wrapped tight for about 6 weeks. Then the bandages were taken off and everything was back to normal. No PT or anything

My daughter has trigger thumbs. Here on is permanently bent and the other one pops every now and then.


Our pedi gave us a referral to a surgeon and we are waiting to hear back from them.
