Transitioning to more solid food.

posted 11th Mar
DS is 8 months and loves food. He can chew very well and seems really interested in what we are eating. Has been for sometime actually.

He will chew and eat little bites of cheese and bread. He loves the graduates dissolving puffs. But what kind of foods did you use to transition away from baby food to more solid foods. I am at a loss for ideas.

I tried some of the baby food "3rd foods" and he acted disgusted. Which I would too if I was eating Spaghetti and tomato sauce baby food. Tried mushing banana's but I think the texture was too much for him, lol.

TIA.

With DD we just cut up our foods and fed them to her. Fruits, veggies, meat, etc.
We just cut them into bite sized chunks or gave her pieces big enough for her to hold and chew on. It worked really well and helped her to learn to self-feed.

He can eat whatever you eat. Just cut it up into little pieces and let him learn.

Draco eats whatever I eat. As long as it is soft enough, then he eats it. I also buy him these mini ravioli things that they have for kids at walmart. I cut them up super small. They have either like spinach in them, chicken and cheese, cheese, turkey...a ton of different kinds. He LOVES them. And he has been eating our food for a while now. He is 9 months old

Hm, I'll have to get some of those.

Thanks ladies. I am going to slowly start giving him more of what we are eating.
