Chocolate chip cookie question.

posted 10th Mar
My aunt made these delicious chocolate chip cookies. I don't know what she did. But they were flat, soft and chewy. Just sooo good. Mind are good too. But they are standard, raised, chewy.. Not like ch-e-w-y deliciousness. I always use real butter or butter and applesauce, hers tasted different. Maybe shortening? Def. not margarine. OMG help me.

When i posted about it on here,
people told me the more melted the butter- the flatter the cookie.
It worked.

I'm going to try half extra virgin olive oil and half melted butter. Gosh I need some chocolate.

Thank you

DH was stashing them in his truck and just brought them in tonight.. I think she handed them to him when she left last night. I had one. Then I took a nap and my son woke me up by bring me an empty bag and said I ate all those yummy cookies so you can just make me more. Uhm, yes. I will I told him he needed to share and only eat one or two at a time, and he doesn't get why- because I can just make more.   anyway she's sleeping and I can't ask her until tomorrow. When I find out the secret I will for sure come back and tell you.

I don't think so. My gut says shortening, because that's what we use when we make Christmas cookies together, but I've never done chocolate chip cookies with her. And then veggie oil was suggested and that's basically the same as cristco melted.

You use cream cheese in cookies? Is it good?

I've never used it but I've seen the recipe for it around the internet its very popular. Not enough to taste the cream cheese just to keep the cookies chewy and soft.

I love my moms cc cookies and one day I called her and asked for the recipe. I thought it was like some age old great grandmas recipe thing. Nope she got it off the Crisco container   haha
