Not here. Everyone does a base medical course and then they specialise.

So they weren't specialized, such as your child's doctor was?

Our son is now being treated for reflux with Zantac, maybe if you ask your pharmacist if there is something that can help? We also found a product called colic calm assisted him too, it's available online if your chemist doesn't stock it.

I'm in auckland and can courier it for $4.50 don't worry about it
That's a shame about the domperidone
What else is there, blessed thistle pills. All this costs $20+ which can get up there if you want to try everything!
Ill double check that I still have the yeast and ill pm you for your address.

Some drs shouldn't be drs though lol. I don't know how they got their qualifications.
In 48 hours I took my screaming non sleeping 6mth old to 3 different drs. An after hours clinic, the hospital, and my own drs. The first two doctors said there was nothing wrong with her and she was just misbehaving. My own doctor (who saw her 4 hours after the emergency paediatrician saw her) diagnosed a raging acute ear infection in both ears.
How did TWO drs miss that?!

Thank you so incredibly much. Yeah it sucks about the domperidone but it was worth a try.

I know but thats NZ drs for you. For my whole life I have had constant ear infections and only this year (im 19) did the lactation we saw for Blake (the 4th one i might add who only picked it up then) saw that I have a tongue tie and my palate didnt spread so I had a small jaw and it effects my ears. Its so hard to find a good doctor over here. And they are so expensive.

He has been screaming all day, even at the doctors he was. Nothing helps. We are going to Waikato Family Centre tomorrow and they are meant to be amazing. We will spend the day there tomorrow and they will try different things.

Is that a Plunket family centre? Hope you have a good Plunket nurse, my first brae was mean and not very helpful. It was my first baby and I was 17 and needed all the help I could get!

Man that sucks about your platelets. Is there anything that can be done now?
Do you swaddle? I'm trying to think what helped my daughter but it was so long ago now lol. Swaddling helped her stay asleep longer. And tummy sleeping but I was so paranoid of SIDS I didn't continue tummy sleeping.

Raising the head end if blakes bassinet or cot can help reflux too. Lying flat on their back can cause pain and some parents find raising the head end of the bed gives Some relief.

Our Plunket Nurse is really good. She was the only person who picked up that he has a tongue tie. Its not part of Plunket its privately run but for the public. We decided not to go because we had Blake at after hours last night because he was so hysterical that he vomited. They said colic so we are just giving up and dealing with it.

Nothing can be done now. Ive learnt to live with it. He hates being swaddled. We wrap a muslin around him under his arms for more comfort. He freaks out if his arms are swaddled. The top end of his cot has been raised pretty much since he was born because he was a c-section breech birth he had all the mucus in his lungs and then this all started so we kept it this way.

Yeah we wish there wasnt a risk with them sleeping on their tummy. He prefers it but no its not worth the chance of him dying.

How did you deal with all the crying? It gets to us and its becoming too hard to deal with. Especially with both of us having a constant headache.

Ear plugs. Not kidding. I had to when my youngest daughter had colic. Icould still hear her just enough to know how she was but I also had a mmonitor where it lights up.

It sounds awful but it was the only way I could get just a bit done without a headache.

And if you need a break just lay baby down in a sage place and walk to another room for a few mimutes. Everyone mom I know does this and it does NOT make anyone a bad mom. Babies can cry for a few minutes because if you are stressed and irritated baby will sense that and cry harder.

Also rolled oats and granola help increase the supply. I eat oatmeal (not packaged kind but real rolled oats) every morning with Brown sugar and raisins. Soooo yummy and its healthy and helps! I snack on natur valley granola bars (too lazy to make my own lol). Also look into mothers milk tea it helped me with my daughter.

I just had my son almost 2 weeks ago and am now pumping about 20 oz a day thanks to the oats and lots of water. If I dont eat oats and drink lots of water I dont pump a lot.

Also drinking soda while breastfeeding can make baby gassy. Never understood how but it does lol
