Almost 35 weeks, 1cm dilated and 80 thinned out.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but what does 80% thinned out actually mean? My doctor didnt seem concerned when she told me but Im concerned because I do have a short cervix and have had complications with this pregnancy..

It means 80 percent of cervix is gone, you can google pics on effacement. Your almost 100% thinned, just means less work during labor!

If your dr isn't concerned then just try relaxing. Dilation and effacement reallyean nothing.  

I wouldn't worry too much about dilating/thinning.. i was 3 cm dilated for three weeks & 95% effaced.
