SO is STUCK on the name Abigail. One problem, First childs name is Abrielle. So both nicknames will be "Abby". I don't particularly LIKE Abigail, I think it's too common.
Question is, would you name your second child something that would result in both kids having the same or even similar nicknames?

No and I wouldn't name my kid anything I didn't love.

I wanted to name this baby Adelaide. Hubby said no because the only nickname he liked was Addy. DD1's name is Madelynn and she goes by Maddy. She's going to be almost 4 when this baby is born so too late to change her nick name... So we had to ditch that name.

Those names are too similar, period. Even a different nickname wouldn't help.

I would find a different name. I personally can't stand matchy type names for siblings. And those are way too close for me.

You could always call Abrielle, Bri, or Elle.

I know someone who called both of her kids names that start with Jay. There's no possible alternative for them in regards to nicknames and so she calls them both Jay-Jay. I think it's super tacky and really confusing  

I love the name Oliver. My husband feels its too close to our oldest's name, Elliot. So, Oliver is his middle name.

Abigail should be her middle name.

I agree with the veto! You should LOVE it   I have an Addison too, but also a Caylee. If we didn't have a Caylee the next girl might be Kailynn....You might be stuck on the name for a reason, though? How about using it for a middle name? Go with your gut...

When I picked the name I had originally wanted her nickname to be Bri, but my Mom and everyone else started calling her Abby.
