When i get hang nails that get infected that's what it looks like. Soak it in warm water. I'm bad and usually squeeze the gunk out of it. But the cuticle infections are reallllly common (not sure about common with babies though). How long as it been this way?

I would call, even it if was to ease your mind. It's most likely fine, but at two weeks, it might not hurt just to get a professional opinion.

I don't know if it's the same thing but my son had something that looked A LOT like that.. it went away within a week or so. But you can call just to be sure.

Its an infected hang nail I think.

It was a little pink since he was born. Than he had been wearing scratch mittens and I never thought to check his fingers between changing his scratch mittens and only just noticed this morning while changing his clothes how bad it had gotten.

my son just had this last week I took him to the doctors they put a warm compress on it lifted the scab and pushed out the pus it was because of a hang nail and said if it happened again to just do what they did at the office he is two weeks as well

Id take him in to be seen. Might need a special ointment or something.

Its probably infected from a hangnail. Ive gotten them quite a few times, I soak my finger in warm/hot water and end up having to squeeze it. It will pop and all that gunk will come out. Ive never seen it in a newborn, Id call only because Im unsure about what to do. Ive never seen that in an infant

It looks like an infected hang nail. I get them sometimes. Bless his little heart. ):
