Well, I can see why they wouldn't be happy. The responsible thing to have done would have been to wait until you were in your own apartment for a while and maybe married.

You can't undo it. Might as well tell them. It is not like they won't figure it out anyway with the timeline. What are you going to do? Tell them you "just found out", when you have been in the new apt for a week or two?

I am sorry to be so crass but, this situation doesn't exactly scream "responsibility" and that is just how they will see it. If you can "afford" the new baby, you all should have been on your own BEFORE you started your TTC journey.

I'd probably be pissed if my 20yo daughter had a 27yo BF, a baby, lived at my house and was TTC....

Yeah that's exactly why. It's killing me, I am so happy about it and then I cry because I can't tell anybody about it. I just have to wait the four weeks. His whole family knows and is extremely happy about it he is the oldest of 3 his 24 year old sister has 3. He'll be 28 this year so it's a big deal for his family him having his first child.

why would you want to tell them so soon? What if you miscarry then you have to go through the process of telling everyone you told about the pregnancy? I use to feel guilty that I hadn't told my family before my first ultrasound. Now I am thrilled. I can spare them the pain that I had to go through with a d&c.

So I just found out 2 days ago I am expecting my second child. I am nearly 4 weeks as me and fiance were trying, the problem is we haven't officially moved into our apartment which will be next month! So I am at home with my mother and my little brother. Me and SO have been together for 2 years he has taken over the role as dad for my 3 year old son. My son has not had his father in his life for about a little over 2 years and absolutely adores Anthony. I am 20 and SO 27. SO has amazing job as why we were TTC I wouldn't have TTC if we wouldn't be able to afford. We have already told his whole family about my pregnancy and they are so happy for us! This just sucks on my end because I am so excited about it and I can't tell my family yet not even my friends. I feel as I am not going to tell her until next month when we are in our own place. She is just worried that'd be home with a new baby but that is not the case. Sorry long vent just depressed that I can't be over the top with joy about this special time for me. Any advice would be good.

Hopefully things don't fall through with the new place.
My friend and her husband TTC their second while still living with his parents. They succeeded first try, thought they'd be moving out within 2 months of finding out, he got an unexpected expense and here they are with a 23 month old and a 6 month old still living with his parents for at least 5-6 more months.



I can see why your parents would be upset.

I honestly do not care about any nasty comments. I asked for advice and if you do not have anything to say besides being rude then DO NOT COMMENT. Thanks.

If you have never gone through a m/c a lot of women think it will never happen to them and end up telling everyone right away. I was like that until my m/c. I was so naive. I waited until my first u/s; 9 weeks to even tell anyone except for a few close people. I agree with you though and waiting. She won't even be showing at 8 weeks so I'd not tell either

Fact is you have wanted to be pregnant since November. Why get pregnant if you have to hide the pregnancy from your parents? Sounds foolish doesn't it!!

You don't make any damn sense. Not everyone is going to agree with you especially since you were TTC while living with your parents. You sound like a brat

I never thought it would happen to me either. I just had a gut feeling this pregnancy not to tell. Plus, I didn't want to deal with my mother's ridicule. She is never happy for anyone. I most definitely won't say anything til at least 12 weeks next time.
