Homemade hummus?

How do you make yours? Last time I attempted to make it, it just didn't taste right. I assumed it was because I used canned chickpeas, so I have dried chickpeas soaking right now. 

I think since I'm trying to recreate the hummus from my job, I'm probably just being very difficult.

I also tried a sriracha and roasted garlic recipe. The flavors were way too overpowering.

I never am able to get it to turn out right... Following.

-2 cups cooked chickpeas, liquid reserved and set aside
-1 tsp sea salt, or to taste
-2 garlic cloves
-1/3 Cup tahini
-7-8 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
-2 Tbsp reserved chickpea liquid (or water)
-extra virgin Olive oil,
-Paprika, for garnish

I don't measure, it always comes out well.

Canned chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, and cloves of garlic. All to taste.

we buy powder from wholefoods. Lots of garlic, olive oil and tons of lemon juice.

Hmm. The recipe I used before didn't call for lemon juice and that's an ingredient you all listed. I assume it makes a big difference in the hummus?

Of course I have none. I just went next door and asked my neighbor who I've never met if she had lemon juice. LOL. I hate cravings.
