I think the sentiment is sweet and the message of you being there is clear but, I get the overall feeling of "death" in the message. The little guy didn't die, he just isn't his biological son.

He's actually kinda lucky he didn't sign an affidavit cause he'd be legally bound to give her child support for 18 yrs if he did. This happened to my old coworkers husband. They had to pay child support for a kid that wasn't his. He found out later when she took him for child support. They did paternity and he wasn't but the judge said "we'll you agreed to be responsible for this child when u signed for him".

he lost his son, just not in the literal sense. I didn't know how to translate that into words...

I think I won't give it to him.

I feel so bad for him, this has got to be horrible. He's lucky he has you to support him

I think just letting him know that you are there when he needs a shoulder is going to mean the most right now. Such a horrible thing to go thru
