whats going around...(sickness wise)

My 4 year old woke up fine at 7:00 am, she was perky and asked to eat breakfast like normal, by the time 10:00 am rolled around i noticed she got really quiet and was moaning, i felt her and found she was reall hott, i took her temp and it was 103.0. She has NO other symptoms, and when given motrien her fever goes down and she is her normal self. Sound like a virus? Or any illness going around? Dont want to take her to the dr if its just a virus lol.

Maybe it's the flu?

I'm pretty sure that's what I just had. At least I thought it was the flu. I was feverish and couldn't sleep, and in pain, nauseous, too. It sucked.

But this time of year, there are a bunch of things going around, probably.

Just keep giving her the motrin, or alternating it with Tylenol, to keep her fever from getting too high, make sure she stays hydrated and gets lots of rest, and hopefully it'll pass in a few days!

i hope thats not what it is... i ask her if her tummy hurts or is upset and she said no, she does hurt but it only seems to be when her fever is present. She says nothing else hurts and right now she is convinced she is not sick lol.

Hmm. I'm not sure. I'm bad at this stuff, my kids are usually healthy aside from runny noses lol. But if it's only the fever that's making her uncomfortable, just keep giving her the motrin and hopefully she'll feel fine until it passes!

There is so much crap floating around right now. You just have to wait and see what surfaces. My kids have had the croup twice in the past month 1/2 and all have nasty colds right now. I am over it!!!

My daughter was similar. We just let it takes its course, we rarely go to the doctor's office. It lasted a few days of her having a fever, and then went away two days, came back one day (for like 3 hours) and now it is gone again.

Nope. Her face was red, and her eyes were a little swollen (real glassy looking.) That was it. She laid around a little more than usual, and went to bed early on those nights, but no other symptoms....I mean, a runny nose, but that was it.

that sounds like my daughter, yesterday she had a runny/stuffy nose. I gave her allergy meds and sent her to school. Today its a high fever and a light runny nose.

Yea. Nope, we just made sure she stayed hydrated and put her on the BRAT diet just in case.

My dd has it as well, it's awful just keep up with Motrin and Tylenol

You sent her to school with a fever or the fever came today? NM I just read again

That is how the croup started in my house the second time.
