I've never had a C-section, but I would assume the same as vaginal deliverys. Clothes for the baby, a blanket, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, deoderant, hair brush, lose comfy clothes... Pretty much anything that is going to make you comfortable. Alot of people like to bring books, laptops and things like that, but for me personally I didnt want to do anything but take care of DS and sleep lol.

Most hospitals provide diapers, wipes, bottles (if you use them), and clothing for your stay. I took an outfit to bring him home in. They also provide clothes for you (hospital gown, ewww) as well as pads, and toiletries. I still brought my own clothes, and toiletries. You'll need a camera, laptop and charger if you have one, phone and charger. It's helpful if your SO has some change for vending, and a change of clothes if you are a good distance from home, and the carseat. Good luck!

I didn't know I'd be having a c section, ended up having an emergency section so I was kept in longer. I brought 6 pairs of pjs but if you know you're having a section i would recommend bringing night dresses instead. You might have a catheter for a while and my pj waistbands kept hurting my incision. If you're breast feeding front opening nighties would be best + I brought 3 nursing bras. For yourself you'll need plenty of spare underwear, toiletries, some towels, dressing gown and slippers. My hospital provides maternity pads but I brought 2 packs of my own anyway. They don't provide baby stuff, I don't know if yours does though. So for baby I brought 6 vests, 6 babygros, hats, scratch mitts, 2 blankets (cellular blankets are better than fleece in the hospital), 2 towels. I needed 2 packs of nappies coz I was in 5 days, 1 pack of wipes, Vaseline, cotton wool, powder, baby bath stuff. If you're using soothers bring about 2. I also brought a pack of 6 muslin cloths. They're handy for burping baby. My daughter had reflux from the start so they came in handy! Some people use the towelling squares as well. I also brought my own scented nappy bags and a small bottle of hand sanitiser. Maternity wards are kept very warm so you won't need heavy pjs or nighties. Also I'd advise some dry shampoo like batiste. I showered every day but with the heat in the ward I was sweating minutes after. So the dry shampoo came in handy! My mother brought up the going home outfit, car seat and anything else I needed. Like someone above mentioned spare change is handy for vending machines. I brought books but I never got a chance to read them!

well, when you in the hospital for 5 days....a movie is kind of nice to watch.
well in my case, my son was jaundice so he was in the ultraviolet lighting or w/e its called.

I had a c-section also, and some complications so I was in the hospital for 6 days. I brought my makeup and I also brought shampoo and conditioner. They provided some but I liked mine much better. It felt nice to shower and do my makeup. I just felt better.
I packed yoga pants, tank tops, flip flops and sports bras for me. Also, I hated the pads and underwear since my PP bleeding was a lot. I bought depends (adult diapers) which was much easier for me.
Hair ties, chapstick,, comfy clothes for SO, phone chargers and Ipad.
As for baby I brought a newborn outfit and a 3 months outfit. Which was good because newborn was too small lol. They will have wipes, diapers, pacifiers, and formula for baby if you are not breastfeeding.

This is my 3rd.
My list is simple
Go home clothes for both
shampoo, tooth brush, toothpaste deodorant
pillow.
ETA you have no reason to bring make-up to the hospital unless you have absolutely no self esteem. No one gives a rats ass how you look. You just gave birth and are in the hospital. Who is going to expect you to be runway perfect? Leave it to the absolute essentials and nothing else.
