Finding out the sex of the baby at delivery....
posted 9th Mar
We decided to wait until the baby was born to find out the sex of the baby. I have heard that it was the best thing ever.. Just wondering if anyone else loved this idea and how did you plan for the baby after he or she was here?

In one of your older posts you said the us tech said it was a boy.....did you already find out?

We knew before, buteveryonewho came to meet him brought him new clothes. Lol. My aunt was surprised and got soo much clothes she didn't even have to buyany besides the general neutral stuff she bought. Really my son didnt even sleep in his room. Until he was 2 months old so I could have done that after he was born. The swing and bouncy seat etc. we got were gender neutral. Babies dont need a whole lot when they are new...
Sorry for spelling... I'm on an iPad.

Cool....I was never able to wait, I think that's great....just pack neutral stuff for the hospital and then maybe plan a welcome baby party for after.

i have all of the big stuff from when i had my first 2 boys. if i have a boy i wont need a thing but if i have a girl i have nothing girly in my house. as for the carseat and walker and stuff its basically gender neutral so i dont need that and the room i am content with not having that set up yet. my 5 year old son wants a sister so bad and i dont know how to break it to him if we bring home a boy lol. he tells everyone hes having a sister

I think it would be super awesome to find out at delivery. But I've never been able to stand the anticipation, lol. I've thought about doing that with my last 2, but just can't stand to wonder to so long. If I do have another baby though, I will seriously consider waiting it out. Still don't know if I could though, haha. But good for you!! That's really cool

i had a hard time not finding out at the 20 week ultrasound but im sooo excite now and im glad we didnt. i was not easy for me at all. he measured the legs and it was an underneath shot of the baby and i didnt see any boy parts but im telling myself it doesnt mean anything because it could have been there but that was the hardest part to get past. Now at 31 weeks its sooo much fun to wit for the baby

I didn't find out with either child. I prefer it that way honestly, would rather not know then know and it might not be right (our US techs are apparantly not very good at telling gender based on how many people here get told the wrong one!)
I just bought a few nuetral outfits and a few of each gender from the thrift store cheap, and had the room set up neutral.

I told my husband that if we ever had another child we'd be waiting it out, lol. We already have a girl and a boy, so he agreed...the only issue is we both only really want 2 kiddies, although I loved being pregnant, I don't see it happening anytime soon. Kudos to all that can wait to find out, I imagine its the best surprise ever

I had been told I was having a boy but the doc wouldn't say for sure. After that they could never see properly so I decided to leave it a surprise. I never believed it was a boy anyway I felt I was having a girl all along. Friends + family gave me loads of neutral clothes and blankets all in newborn and 0-3 size. My cousin gave me a Moses basket and changing/bath unit in neutral colours too and another cousin bought me the travel system I wanted in black and white. So I was all set lol. I found some newborn clothes sets reduced to €1 so I bought one of each in pink, blue and yellow. They were great, they had a vest, babygro, pants, jacket, scratch mitts and hat, how bad for €1 eh? I went into labour still not knowing what I was having. I had a c section with general anaesthetic so I still didnt find out for a few hours afterward. Turned out I was right, I had a girl! I had so much neutral clothes there was no way she could wear em all. Plus friends and family all bought lots of pink and purple clothes and toys etc. she wore the pink newborn €1 set when I brought her home from the hospital. The blue I gave to my friend who had a boy 2 weeks later (she already knew it was a €1 bargain lol I bought her some more stuff when he was born). If I have any more I'm torn between leaving it a surprise again or finding out with a proper 3/4D scan. I definitely loved the surprise though!

We decided not to find out with our little man. We painted his room green below the chair rail and blue above with plans of how to complete the room once he was born. We were going to go with ladybugs or fairies had he been a girl. We are still working on his room piece by piece now. We have added a car rug and train rug. He also has some sports/UGA stuff. His room is just more of a boy room in red, blue, green, and yellow. My mom bought a ton of boy and girl clothes from consignment stores. After he was born, I boxed all of the girl stuff and she is giving it to someone she knows that needs girl baby clothes. I brought a very girly and very boy outfit to the hospital. I purchased both new with the intention of regifting whichever I didn't use. I know 4 other pregnant ladies right now at work or in the family - 2 boys, 2 girls. It was a great surprise and the anticipation of finding out helped me get through 19 hours of labor and an emergency csection.
