Yeah my DD jumped up and grabbed for me and started crying. She cried for a few minutes and they offered her a lollipop.

it amazes me how they're so easily distracted. after she got her bottle, she had no idea they were even there (granted they probably still hurt, but she didn't mess with them or anything).

I remember when I got my ears pierced... I cried when my dad took the earrings out of my ears but, didn't cry when I had them pierced.

Why did you cry when he took them out?

Wow...I would never pierce any childs ears...my mum was a big ruler of "When you turn 16, you can do whatever you want!" Why would you hurt your baby in order to make them "look a bit prettier" :S

Sorry, but no...it honestly shocked me when you said you asked why her daughters ears weren't pierced... I'd be shocked that a child that young would have them pierced to be honest... not trying to upset anyone, I genuinely do not understand why you would do it... I hate taking my boy for his vaccinations but they're for the good of his health so I can't make sense at all of why you'd hurt a tiny baby for aesthetic reasons

Exactly. I was surprised that she was surprised that the baby's ears weren't pierced.

I never want my baby to be in pain, so I would not take them to get needles/earrings stabbed through their ears just to make her look pretty. She was born beautiful, I'm not going to stick holes in her ears when as a baby she obviously doesn't want that.

Oh gosh, I don't event know. I think it had to do with the memory of having them being pierced. (I develop sudden fears.. It's weird) I am guessing I just maybe thought having them taken out was going hurt as much if not, more than when they were pierced.

To this day I hate taking earrings out of my ear.

I am just weird. haha

Awww, lol. I hope my DD isn't traumatized when it comes to changing our her earrings. She wants hello kitty earrings and plan on getting some eventually.

I'm sure she will be fine. I am just a baby. Things I use to face head on I am terrified of now, even though nothing traumatic happened to cause that fear in the first place.

I understand, I too have fears that I don't really understand.

It took me a while to get over my fear of sink faucets because one day there was a spider in ours. (I am not sure if you read that thread or not).

My husband was the one who did dishes for probably 2 months straight after that. What's funny is.. I was just fine with the bathroom faucets. Both tub and sinks... Just not the kitchen.

I am not sure I have heard of a few spider in the sink horror stories. I hate spiders with the exception of daddy long legs. I freak out.

Same here. I am trying to slowly but surely get over the fear though.

I haven't found a spider in the house in quite a while but, with the weather warming up it's going to happen sooner or later. Right now I am trying to teach myself to be respectful of all creatures including spiders. It's definitely not going to be easy for me to do.

Ear piercing is just to be cute. I would never cause my baby unnecessary pain. If I ever have a daughter, I will wait until she is old enough to ask for her ears to be pierced.
