Vitalstim
posted 9th Mar
My DD was born at 32 weeks. She will be 6 month (actual on the 11th) We spent 4 weeks in the nicu and then 3 weeks 6 days in the step down unit. She had to pass a swallow study to go home! Well in Jan we had a bout of rsv and pneumonia so her speech therapist wanted us to have a follow up swallow study to see if she could qualify for vitalstim. She failed and was directly admitted to the hospital yesterday. Insert NG tube and no feeds by mouth It is breaking my heart. They started doing the Vitalstim on her today and I was wondering if any of yall had heard of it. I tried to do a search but nothing came up! I'm looking for advice and success stories. They will treat her until March 18th and repeat another swallow study. I am back 2 hours away from home My DH is taking care of our DS and everything back at home while I stay here!

Thank you, I looked into those! I made them do it to me first to see if it hurt and it didn't. I was wondering if any other parents up here have any first hand experience with it!
