Dysphoric milk ejection reflex.

Has anyone experienced this??
My friend has a 2 week old baby and she said she feels really stressed sad and emotional when she starts bfing her baby. And like she's on the verge of a panick attack. It only lasts about 2 mins then she's fine but it happens EVERY time she has a letdown.
Baby is 2 weeks old and sleeps well, feeds beautifully no issues apart from this strange feeling she gets.
It freaks her out. Will it go away? She didn't have it with her first baby.

Wow I didn't even know this was a thing!

It's hormonal and it should go away. Everyone's hormones react differently. Mine for example made my armpits extremely hot and itchy whenever I'd breastfeed for the first month. My mom would get anxiety and it lasted about a month as well.

If it doesn't go away I'd talk to her doctor about it.



Edit: it'd only last less than five minutes every feeding for both of us.
