Projectile Vomit

posted 8th Mar
I think my kids are making for keeping me puke free for 3 years. The baby woke up and just started projectile vomiting and crying. I feel so horrible for her and theres nothing I can do. Any ideas? (No fever or other symptoms)

If you have any children's pepto it works wonders. Or (I don't honestly suggest this but the er doctor had us do this when my son was sick...) cut a zofran (if you have any) in half and put it under her tongue. (Like I said, its an idea but I don't personally suggest it.) Maybe a few sips of ginger ale? How old is she anyway?

Just snuggles. Try to get some fluids in her and hopefully her tummy has calmed down. DS has had little bouts like that before and it terrified me and broke my heart. He had no other symptoms so it was just snuggles and rocking.

I think you can give her one of them then, just to help settle her tummy. And of course, fluids and lots of snuggles. :-)

Can you give Pepto to a baby/child? It has salicylate (aspirin) in it. Small children, especially those who may have a viral infection, shouldn't take aspirin because of the risk of Reye's Syndrome. Just throwing that out there...

Aww poor thing. I hope she feels better. I know she's miserable!! Pedialyte has been said to help with tummy problems. :-( I hate having sick babies. My son was throwing up like that a few weeks ago and it was so bad he couldn't breathe so we packed him up and took him to the er. I hope she feels better and doesn't have none of them nasty viruses going around. And poor daddy.

The childrens pepto says 2 and up. I gave it to my 3 year old but im gonna call the doctor about the baby if it keeps happening. She seems to be settling now.

Thanks me too. I just wish I knew what was causing the tummy issues with the girls. Fevers and colds I can handle no problem but puke is a whole new thing to me as a parent. My 3 year old keeps complaining that her tummy hurts and has only thrown up once in her sleep but had explosive diarrhea all day today.
