Leaving 3 year old

Have you ever left your 3 year old for a few minutes to run over to your neighbors while they were asleep? No more then like 10min. I have to go over and grab something and my neighbor likes to talk but I feel bad because my son is asleep and I havent ever left him alone while sleeping like that.


Would that be bad?
Should I just wait until tomorrow?

I don't think I would feel confortable.
A friend of mine did this and they had a random social worker visit and her kids get taken away. It counts as abandonment.

That is what I was thinking. I have a friend who said she has done that and I didn't know if it is normal/acceptable? As I said I have never done it before so I came on here to ask if thats something that people do or not >.<

That's understandable. I try to go by the rule...if I have to ask, I shouldn't do it. Always go with your gut. If you thought it was okay, you wouldn't need to ask...ya know?

Depends on how far away it is... I have left my kids inside asleep before just take a baby monitor with you if the signal is to weak your to far away.

No, don't leave him. You always have to think of the what-ifs. What if he wakes up? Can't find you? Walks outside? Runs into the road? Gets hit by a car? And there's 800 other terrible things that could happen. It's extreme, but you would never forgive yourself if that happened.

I don't even ever leave my 9 year old alone at home, sleeping or not, and she is obviously at an age where she's self sufficient.
