Tell someone their child is cute, even if you don't think they are?

No need for replies, I'm just generally curious.

Nope. But I will compliment something else about them.

Just out of the blue? No. I might feel a little obligated to say something nice if asked though.

No, I used other endearing comments.

"he/she is just so loveable"

"what a charmer, that's a smile!"

"how adorable!"

And really even if a child isn't "cute" exactly they still have other features to compliment.

Exactly. There's something nice about most children. Even if it's just the outfit the have on.

I definitely call them cute when I don't necessarily think they're cute...

When my daughter is with me in public she does all the talking when she sees someone her age or younger.

If we're waiting and she has time to look around and sees another small child waiting. She will say (Loud enough for the family to hear her), "Mommy look at that girl she is so beautiful."

No. I usually will find something else to say. Like I'll find a cute feature, say their nose, and compliment that. Most parents are so wrapped up in their love, that anything positive you say is taken as a compliment lol.

I say cute if there kid isnt overly cute and pretty if they are super cute..
