Have you ever had an abortion?

I want to know the procedure of a "miscarriage pill" from beginning to end... the experience you had- Why did you chose to abort? How did you make it through mentally? Do you ever regret your decision?

you take one pill in front of them and then another 12-36 hours later that is either bucually or vaginally.

you cramp pretty bad but once you pass the tissue it goes away pretty quickly, and the rest is just like a heavy period (in my experience and what we used to tell patients when i worked there)

I had an abortion but it was a D&E not the pill form, so I can't help you there. I chose to abort for a lot of reasons, I was 17, me and the bd (SO) were only together about 6 months when I got pregnant, abusive household and both of my parents were addicts. Plus I knew I wasn't ready, couldn't support a child financially or emotionally. I honestly don't know how I made it through it was so mentally straining and difficult I think I just went into survival mode because a lot of those three days is a blur even now. Took me a long time to get over it and it changed me but it was the best decision at the time and I don't regret it.
I hope someone gives you the answers you're looking for.

I had surgical, not the pill. Mentally it wasn't a big deal, I knew it was the right thing to do and never thought twice about my decision, I've never regretted it, never will. I didn't want to be pregnant, give birth, have a kid, etc. Easy decision.

I've heard the pill is a bit rougher of an experience than surgical, but you're at least in the comfort of your own home, so that's a bonus.

I did about three years ago.

The cramps were insanely painful. I passed a ton of large tissues, which basically lasted 24 hours. I bled for about a week and a half after the whole thing.


I did it becuse at the time I had a 6 month old, was still in school and I knew I just wouldn't be able to handle it. I don't really know how I mentally got over it, I just knew in the back of my mind I was making the right decision. To this day I still don't regret what I did. It was for the best at the time and I was able to graduate school and find a job which I wouldn't have been able to do had I went through with the pregnancy.

My reasoning was, I wasn't pregnant by choice. I was rapped and beat and tied up and locked up for 2 weeks in some strangers closet. Didn't know him. Luckily I got out alive. Weeks later I found out I was pregnant. And I couldn't carry a child that constantly reminded me of those terrible things.

Yes. I think the cut off for the pill is 9 weeks.

WHAT?! Oh my lord. How terrifying. I totally understand why you would want to do that in that circumstance.

I am asking basically to reassure myself. I don't really have many reasons (big ones anyway) to abort. It's just what my SO wants, so I want to explore all of my options.

Yeah, I believe so. I think you have to be 8 weeks, but I'm not entirely sure, I had mine in '96. So, it may be different now.

Surgical was like, 5 minutes and done, plus, they will give you sedation. Bam, done with.

My only advice is dont do it for anyone else. You have to do it for yourself.

Thank you. I'm not 100% yet, but I just don't think I could go through with having an abortion. It's just simply not what I want to do.

I think I would feel better if I knew I wasn't capable of providing for my child, but both SO and I are totally capable so it just doesn't make much sense to me to abort for reasons that I don't have, ya know?
