You know they have a band procedure where it's done without cutting at all.....

and as far as a "cut up penis" you could hardly see any bit of "cut" after his circumcision, since we did not do the band procedure. Hopefully your son doesn't run into the same problems as his father did.

Has your husband mentioned anything about having your son circumcised now so that he doesn't have to go through what hes going through, later in life?

did that happen after proper care? I know that they gave us instructions on how to avoid that happening.

what do you mean the foreskin closed up?? After it became retractable? They should have used steroid cream and stretching exercises. Poor hubby, though OUCH!! Glad my son didn't have to go through that either, glad it's easy to clean once they are older.

what her hubby went through is rare and they did not treat her husband properly as a child. It is possible he was forcefully retracted, which would cause the foreskin to want to heal back over the glans, if left alone the foreskin will retract on it's own over time. If it did that and still closed up after that fact, they should have used steroid creams and stretching exercises. If your mom had gotten breast cancer would you have wanted her to get your breast buds removed in case you might go through the same thing? No.

I feel the same way.

Well she clearly is! My SO was going to sue the nurse. You are NOT supposed to just pull it down when it closes up like that.

It was her second son, no complications with the first, so I'm sure they cared for it correctly. And it happened over time, not right after the procedure. She mentioned it around his birthday, and was worried he would need surgery to correct it. I haven't talked to her since though, so I have no idea what went on with that. Sounds painful to fix once they're older though. Ouch! >_<

thank you!! so much damn misinformation out there about it, it's sickening to me!!
Babies do remember and there are plenty of problems resulting from circumcision, too. More problems actually people are just unaware and think it's normal.

circumcision is just a "cure" looking for a disease! Who the heck thinks using amputation as a prevention is the right thing?? it blows my mind.

oh but they still have to rip and tear the fused foreskin off of the glans before putting that band on! And there have been cases where the band never fell off on it's own and resulted in part or all of the penis needing to be amputated.

Yep I know a few people who got circumsized and they accidentally took off too much skin and now he always has problems with it. Circumsision can easily be avoided! People need to get educated on proper care.
