Single parenting sucks with a DB

DB - douche bag/ dead beat. All of a sudden out of no where he texted me saying he wanted to take DD for two days. I told him that make me very nervous and he can as long as it is at his mother's house (she sees her frequently and it is a safe environment for the most part). He got stupid and his girlfriend texted me. I recognized the number as the one who had texted me "suck it erin" on new years eve. I had tried for two years to work with him and now they both think they can just take her. I told her "you as a mother should understand having him in and out and having her in an unknown environment with unknown people is the worst decision I could make as a mother. I have never said he couldn't see her. He needs to learn who she is and prove he is a fit father. That is all I have said, that is all I have ever said." She told me not to penalize him because he "works long hours" and "distance". The distance thing is a joke. As well as "long hours" He thinks a three hour shift constitutes long hours meanwhile I frequently work 13 hours shifts and 8 days straight. Ugh. Im just annoyed. They can suck it. I've been waiting to find out if I got a promotion to another city (same distance away from DB as I am now) so I can file custody there. I will get it. But I don't want to have any drama until then. Ive said the same thing forever, see her regularly (more than once a year) and make her a priority and then I will not have a problem. Until then, he can visit her at his mom's or come see her in my presence.

Single parenting is one of the hardest things I've ever done. B's father sucks and I am so sad for her. Your BD sounds similar to mine with the excuses as to why he won't come see her. It's ridiculous.

For real. I ran into them when I went to pick her up from her Nana's. He wouldn't look at me, speak to me, or even hand me my daughter. He refused, he hardly even said bye to her. It was ridiculous the way they all acted. I said hi to her and introduced myself after her trying very hard to ignore me. She huffed and walked away. Now they're trying to be all sugar coated, because texts are recordable... His mother must have told her I'm probably moving and filing for custody. Smurf him. I told him I'd rather cancle the child support than have him in and out of her life.

Exactly... I was a signle parent before, but the ass got another girl pregnant and never bothered. Probably because I didn't get child support. I even told him it is ridiculous that he is totally unaware of how much this will harm her. He doesn't even know her. She is my child, my everything. I am the only one who can protect her. I'm her mother, and I will not allow this behavior.

B doesn't know her dad either   It makes me so sad. But it's his choice.

Exaclty.... and EVERYTIME he's like "please I'm trying. just do it".... umm? no. Refusing to do what is best for her or only asking once every 6 months to see her is not trying.
