to get a tattoo while breastfeeding? I want another tattoo but not if its going to affect my baby. TIA!!!

From what I know your not supposed to and a tattoo artist will not tattoo you .

Is it safe, yeah probably, but the risk of infection is too high and no reputable artist will touch you if they know

Its against the law in a lot of places

Depends on the artist. Mine will after 6 months because that's when their individual immune system starts to take over.

Ok I always wondered about the whole infection thing, how is possibly getting an infection from a tattoo any different than infections people get on their own normally like a UTI or a sinus infection? Is there something worse about possibly getting an infection from a tattoo or? I just always wondered that..

I wouldn't do it. Better safe than sorry, you only are breastfeeding for a short period of time, but have your whole life to get tatted up.

Maybe they are referring to ink poisoning or dirty instruments causing hep b or aids not that familiar but those are the things people always bring up

Tattoo infections can become systemic MUCH more easily than a UTI or sinus infection, leading to blood infection and passing to baby.

I, personally, wouldn't do it while nursing, despite the risks being really small. Just not worth it for something cosmetic!

Ahh ok I see. Nah I don't want a tattoo yet but I just always wondered.
