re: Was I offensive?

I would be highly offended, simply because you cant replace a child with a toy. However, I dont think you were malicious.

Im so so sorry for your friend. My heart goes out to her

Now after looking at the link.
I still think it's so insensitive. Sorry.
And the dolls are awful

It's a bit offensive but as long as they know you weren't trying to hurt their feelings it might blow over ok.

You don't think they look real? They look almost exactly like the real children.

I could see how it could be taken that way, but imo you were not offensive. I dont think it was the best suggestion, but you ment well by it.

I personally wouldn't be offended. Maybe a little creeped out, well, it creeps me out now, but idk how I would feel if I were in her situation.

They are! I'd love to get one of my kids, but I can't afford it. She has layaway though, but I think it's only 6 months.

i'm very sorry for your friend.
i don't think it's appropriate to link grieving parents to websites selling dolls, regardless of the dolls, the prices...
like what is she supposed to do with this thing? why would she get one? to sit and look at her dead baby?
that's so awful.....

First of all those dolls are $1000.

Not something you can just "get" to make yourself feel better.

I'd be VERY upset and offended if someone told me I should get one of those creepy ugly little dolls.. It's WAY too soon for something like that.

Try Molly bears if anything --- they are free, and the woman weighs down teddy bears to the exact weight of your dead baby and sends them to your house. takes a few months from what ive heard from others.

and honestly... what were you thinking linking her to a creepy facebook doll site?!!?!?!? that is the most unhealthy thing you could do to " heal":

Especially of my dead baby. I don't know, I just feel like that is not a healthy way to grieve...

The dolls are creepy. If my baby died, I wouldn't want one of those dolls laying around. I think it would make me more sad about the loss. Something less extreme to remember them by would be nice, like an outfit they wore.

I totally agree. I can't see how people don't see it as offensive.

I would NOT want that either. I hate dolls with a passion. But still, OP meant well so I hope the lady doesn't get offended. That's the last emotion she needs to be feeling on top of everything else.
