My 8 month old

Just stood up! Unassisted! Twice in a row! Lol I'm amazed and sooooo excited! Of course I started crying. I wasn't expecting it at all. It was the most incredible thing I've ever seen. I spent the whole day at a friends house with DD and my friend ajd her LO, and I guess DD was feeling inspired by my friends toddler, because we got home and she just went for it! She was trying to cruise this morning and kept falling...
She still hasn't started crawling though, lol... I guess we're just skipping that step!

So exciting!
however, without wanting to be a negative nancy....Crawling is important.
It helps ensure her vestibular (inner ear) is progressing so she doesn't loose her balance all the time, plus a bunch of other things.
Plus crawling (any version of it) is related to neuron firing. It connects the sides of brains because it takes two sides of the body to crawl. Lack of crawling can be related to reading and writing difficulties later on...

That is exciting my LO was walking about a month after the first few times that he stood up unassisted like you LO did today. That was at 9 months, so maybe your LO will start walking at 9 months.
Mine was already cursing and crawling before though. I have heard that it is not unheard of for a baby to skip that crawling step. I read in "the baby book" that most babies do all the steps in crawl then cruise then walk, but if your baby dose not do them all it is nothing to worry about as long as they hit other milestones.
How exciting I bet you will see more and more of this standing soon. Your baby is growing up.
